Using the Daily Suggested Workout Feature on a Garmin Watch
Daily Suggested Workouts are workout recommendations made by your watch to provide a level of challenge to help you maintain or improve your current fitness level.
Using Daily Suggested Workouts:
What Data Is Used to Create Suggested Workouts?
The following items all factor into your workout suggestions:
Training Status
Training Load & Load Focus
VO2 Max Value
Recovery Time
Sleep Data
Profile of Recently Performed Workouts
Max Heart Rate, Lactate Threshold, or Functional Threshold Power
Daily Suggested Workouts will use the auto-detected Lactate Threshold and FTP values.
NOTE: Non-running/cycling activities that are performed on your Garmin watch do not directly affect the Daily Suggested Workouts. However, these non-running/cycling activities will affect your stress and therefore your recovery time, which does have a direct impact on your Daily Suggested Workouts.
What Watches Are Compatible With the Daily Suggested Workout Feature?
See the list below for watches compatible with the Daily Suggested Workout feature:
Using Daily Suggested Workouts
To activate the Daily Suggested Workouts feature, you must establish a VO2 max estimate. To do so, see: What Is VO2 Max Estimate and How Does It Work? Once you have a VO2 max estimate, you will see a Daily Suggested Workout notification the first time you access the "Run" or "Bike" activity profile. Here you can select to do the workout, dismiss the prompt, preview the workout steps, or disable the prompt from appearing on future days:
After completing the workout, you will no longer see the workout suggestion. If you dismiss the prompt you will still be able to access the suggested workout through the activity options or calendar widget on the watch:

I Do Not Receive a Daily Suggested Workout on My Watch
If you are following a dedicated training plan with scheduled workouts aimed at a specific event, one downloaded from Garmin Connect (either a Garmin plan or one you have created), or one downloaded from a third party, these training plan workouts will take priority over the Daily Suggested Workouts. You will still be able to locate the suggested workout in the workouts menu, but your training plan workouts will take priority in the prompts given on your watch.
There are a few other reasons why you may not receive a Daily Suggested Workout on your watch:
