Things to Check Before Purchasing a Used inReach Device
Before purchasing a used inReach® satellite communicator, it is important to confirm the following things with the seller:
There cannot be any active or suspended inReach subscription associated with the device.
Any existing subscription associated with the device must be fully cancelled (see - Canceling an inReach Subscription Service Plan).
If there are any outstanding billing issues that need to be addressed on their account, this should be done prior to selling the device.
If the seller has any questions or concerns about completing either of these tasks, they can contact Garmin Services Billing (see - Contact Garmin Services Billing).
Can Garmin Check the Device for Me?
We cannot cancel any existing service or discuss private account details without speaking to the registered owner, but we can disclose if there is an issue that would prevent you from being able to activate a new inReach subscription for the device. If you wish to check with Garmin before purchasing a used inReach satellite communicator, contact Garmin Product Support and provide at least one of the following numbers from the device:
IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number
Serial number
Unit ID number
If there is an issue, work with the seller to have it resolved before purchasing or purchase a different device.
