Changing the Screen Brightness on an Automotive Device/Dim or Black Screen

Some devices will not go above 40% brightness when they have low power. This FAQ may also be helpful if your device has a black screen or a very dim screen. To correct this, plug the device into a power source and follow the instructions below.

NOTE: For some devices: If the device displays the message "Use the vehicle power adapter provided with your device to support full brightness", see here.

The device may have a different brightness level set when it is plugged in and unplugged. If the device goes dim when plugged into the vehicle, follow steps 1-3 below before plugging it in. Once it is plugged in, if it goes dim, you can swipe right on the screen to brighten it using step 4.

Some devices require the brightness settings to be adjusted and saved separately while plugged into the vehicle, then adjusted again unplugged from the vehicle.

See the detailed video or follow the instructions below.

2. Touch Display (You may have to scroll down to see it)
