Creating Hybrid Maps in XMap

By default, all raster images appear at the top layer on the map, covering up any underlying data. You can layer any of the DeLorme® map data above the raster imagery using the following instructions.

Note: XMap® Software has been discontinued. Support is now provided through documentation in the Support Center. XMap® data format has not.

  1. Select the Map Data tab.

  2. In the Primary Map or Secondary Map, find the category of imagery you want to modify; for example, Color Aerial Imagery.

  3. Click the + button next to the image category.

  4. Click the + button next to the name of the image.

  5. Right-click the image file and select Properties.

  6. Optional

For some types of GeoTIFF and MrSID data, you can select a color to display as transparent (for example, black). To do so, select the Transparent Color check box and select a color, and click OK. The transparent color will show around the imagery.

    OR

If you do not want to select a color to display as transparent, make sure the check box is cleared and click Next.

  7. From the Raster data position drop-down list, select the data that you want to appear above the imagery and clickAdd/Change. Then, click Next.

  8. Set the zoom range for the data and click Next.

  9. Select the check box for each map to apply the change to and click Finish.

  10. You may be asked to apply to all imagery of this type. Select either Yes or No.
