My Edge Goes Blank Without Me Turning Off the Device
Some Edge models have battery saving features that help preserve battery life before needing to charge the device again. This FAQ will provide information about how those features work.
Auto Sleep
Auto Sleep automatically turns the display off after five minutes of inactivity in order to save battery charge. You can press the power button to wake the device up from Sleep Mode. When the device is in Sleep Mode, ANT+ sensors, Bluetooth, and GPS are also disabled. Wi-Fi however will remain enabled. When powering down the device you will also have the option to either turn off it off or put it to sleep.
Enable or Disable Auto Sleep
For most devices you can follow the steps below. Refer to "Using Auto Sleep" in your Owner's Manual for specific steps to enable/disable this feature.
Access the Menu.
Access Settings.
Select an Activity Profile.
Choose Auto Features.
Some Edges skip this step.
Enable or disable Auto Sleep.
Battery Save Mode
Battery save mode adjusts the settings automatically to extend the battery life for longer rides. During an activity, the screen turns off. You can enable automatic alerts and tap the screen to wake it up. Battery save mode records GPS track points and sensor data less frequently. Speed, distance, and track data accuracy are reduced. Battery Save Mode will also prompt to enable if your battery level on the device reaches 10 percent.
Enable or Disable Battery Save Mode
Access the Menu.
Select Battery Save Mode.
Enable or Disable feature.
When enabled, select the alerts that will wake up screen during an activity.
