What is the Stride Length Feature Found on Some Garmin Watches?
Stride length is the length of your stride from one footfall to the next, measured in meters. Stride length can be viewed in real-time as an in-activity data field on a compatible watch. Later, this data can be viewed in more detail in your Garmin Connect™ account to see how your stride length varies with pace, cadence, elevation, and other metrics. Your stride length is dependent on a number of factors, including body morphology, muscular strength, and flexibility.
Stride length is one of six running dynamics metrics available when using GPS and an HRM 600, HRM-Fit™, HRM-Pro™, HRM-Pro™ Plus, HRM-Run™, or HRM-Tri™ heart rate monitor, or a Running Dynamics Pod with a compatible Garmin watch. For more information on all six running dynamics metrics and a list of compatible watches, see - Garmin Watches That Support Running Dynamics.
