Changing the Update Rate While on a Hunt
While on a hunt, it is possible to change the update rate of the Astro® dog tracking collars. The handheld will need to be no more than 10 feet away from the dog collar device to have the change take place. In contrast, the Alpha® dog tracking systems can change the update rate collar at the full range capability of the system.

The Astro 430, Alpha 100, and Alpha 200i handhelds can have the update rate set on the collars to Dynamic, 2.5 seconds, 5 seconds, 10 seconds, 30 seconds, or 2 minutes. The Astro 220 and 320 handhelds can have the update rate set to 5 seconds, 10 seconds, 30 seconds, or 2 minutes. Using a slower update rate of the DC™ collar can increase battery life, while using a faster update rate can decrease the delay between updates, which will provide more up-to-date information concerning the dog's actions.
NOTE: The dynamic tracking rate is only available on the Alpha T20 and TT 25 collars.
