Bark Correction
Some Garmin collars provide a correction when the dog barks. The collar uses vibration to detect when the dog is barking. There are three types of correction that can be applied: Vibrate, a set stimulation level, and Autorise.
Vibrate
Vibrate is a standard feature on many Garmin bark limiting dog devices. The Vibrate mode is designed to automatically vibrate as a correction when the dog barks. This correction is applied once every 2-5 seconds with continuous barking.
Set Stimulation Level
On bark correction collars you can set a stimulation level that the dog will be corrected at when it barks. The highest level for bark correction will vary by device. When using the set stimulation level the dog will be corrected once every 3-5 seconds through continuous barking until the barking stops. The highest level of stimulation will vary by device.
Autorise
Autorise Bark Correction is a standard feature of many Garmin bark limiting dog devices. The Autorise mode is designed to automatically increase the electronic stimulation to the correct level that limits excessive barking. All devices that have an Autorise bark correction feature have a panic guard.
- When a dog barks, it will be corrected with electronic stimulation (no warning tone or vibration).
NOTE: There can be a few free barks allowed before the system starts correcting. - It will deliver only one correction every 3-5 seconds to give the dog a chance to respond.
- If the dog continues to bark, the level automatically increases every four seconds reaching the highest stimulation level within 30 seconds.
- The highest level of stimulation will vary by device.
- Two to five minutes after the dog stops barking, the system will reduce the stimulation to half of what previously stopped the dog.
- If the dog starts barking again, it starts from that lower level and increases as the dog continues to bark.
- This ensures the dog is corrected at the right level more quickly the next time.
- Should the dog refrain from barking completely, the device will slowly decrease the stimulation level reaching the lowest level within 30 minutes.
- When the device is turned off, the level is reset to the lowest level.
Panic Guard
If the collar is unable to stop the barking behavior after 30-40 seconds at the highest level of stimulation, the collar will go into Panic Guard. This will stop all correction for 2 minutes to allow the dog time to calm down. The panic guard timer will reset if any bark is detecting in the 2 minutes. No barks are corrected while in panic guard. Panic guard is only enabled when using Autorise.
NOTE: Panic Guard does not work for set stimulation level correction or the vibrate correction, this is only a feature built in with Autorise.
To use the Autorise bark correction mode reference the of the device.
