Using the Voice Call Function on a Compatible Watch

When using your voice call compatible watch you are able to both make, and receive calls directly from the watch as long as it is currently in range and connected to your paired smartphone. 

NOTE: This feature can work with calls from your native phone app as well as other communication apps, provided that your phone is compatible with this feature (see Phone Incompatibility List for Voice Assistant Watches). After receiving a call from an app other than your phone app, you may have to transfer the call's audio to your watch as this may not happen automatically.

Receiving an Incoming Phone Call

When you receive a phone call on your connected phone, the compatible watch displays the name or phone number of the caller.

  • Select Green phone icon inside of a half circle to accept and incoming call.

  • Select Red phone icon inside of a half circle. to decline an incoming call.

  • Select Message bubble icon inside a green circle to decline an incoming call and send a text message reply.

    • Only available when you are paired and connected to an Android Phone.


Calling From the Watch

Calling from the watch requires you to be connected to your paired phone via Bluetooth® and the Garmin Connect™ app. Moving outside of Bluetooth range during a call will result in the call being sent back to your phone.

D2 Air X10 | Venu 2 Plus:

  1. Hold the Letter B in a Circlebutton (bottom right).

  2. Select Phone Calling.

  3. Select an option:

    • Select 9 circles to represent a keypad to dial a phone number.

      • Select Phone inside of a green circle to make the call.

    • Select Book icon with person ouline to access your Contact list.

    • Select Arrow pointing upward to view recent calls made or received on the watch. 

      • Selecting one will dial that person from the watch. 

Venu 3 | Venu 3S:

  1. Press the Capital letter A in a circle button (top right).

  2. Select Apps.

  3. Select Phone.

  4. Select an option:

    • Select 9 circles to represent a keypad to dial a phone number.

      • Select Phone inside of a green circle to make the call.

    • Select Book icon with person ouline to access your Contact list.

    • Select Arrow pointing upward to view recent calls made or received on the watch. 

      • Selecting one will dial that person from the watch.

fēnix 8 Series | Forerunner 570 | Forerunner 970 | tactix 8 Series | Venu X1:

  1. Press top right button.

  2. Select Phone.

  3. Select an option:

    • Press the middle left button to scroll up to the dial pad.

      • Select Voice Call Start to make the call.

    • Press Contacts to access your contact list.


Controls While in a Phone Call

While a phone call is active you can use the primary and secondary screens to tailor the phone call. Reveal the options below to learn what each icon can do.


Primary Screen

  • Select Red phone icon in a red semicircle to end a call.

  • Select Phone outline with an arrow pointed inward to send a call from your watch to your paired phone.

  • Select Microphone icon inside of a circle to mute or unmute the watch microphone.


Secondary Screen

  • Select Arrow pointed down to return to the primary screen.

  • Select Plus sign inside of a circle. to add another person to the call.

  • Select Mute Audio icon inside of a white circle to mute or unmute the watch speaker.

  • Select 9 dots to represent a keypad to access the keypad.


How Do I Transfer the Call to My Watch From My Phone?

To transfer a call from the phone to the watch, you will need locate the option to move the call to a connected Bluetooth device. This process may vary by phone manufacturer.
