Starting a Round of Golf on Any Hole

A round of golf can be started on any hole of a course with any Garmin® golf-capable device. This is referred to as a shotgun start. 

How Starting Hole is Determined

• If you are within 30 meters (~33 yards) of the furthest back tee box of a hole, that hole will be the starting hole.

  NOTE: Forward tee boxes may be too far outside the radius around the furthest back tee box to trigger the device to start on the hole you are on.

• If you are not within 30 meters of the furthest back tee box of a hole, the first hole will be the starting hole.

• If the device does not show your preferred starting hole, you can change holes manually. See the owner's manual for how to manually change holes.
