Garmin Software Updates With an ECHOMAP UHD2 Connected to Wi-Fi
Prior to initiating a software update over a network containing multiple ECHOMAP devices with an active Wi-Fi connection between two ECHOMAP UHD2 units, it is recommended to turn Wi-Fi off. This will ensure a scenario in which the fewest number of updates will be needed to cover all devices, and is an important consideration when dealing with networks containing a mixture of ECHOMAP generations (UHD, Ultra, Plus, etc.)
Keeping Wi-Fi on will create a scenario in which more updates may need to be initiated than otherwise needed. The only guaranteed way to update ALL ECHOMAP devices in a system is to have them all physically linked together with Garmin Marine Network cables. Once all devices have been updated, feel free to turn the UHD2 wireless network back on for user data and sonar sharing needs.
