gWind™ Wireless 2 Pairing
gWind™ Wireless 2 wind sensor overview
The gWind Wireless 2 connects wirelessly to a compatible chartplotter or GNX™ Wind Marine Instrument. The device can connect up to fifty feet away, but there must be a clear line of sight between the wind transducer and the display. Obstructions between the line of sight, such as structures or other objects, could diminish signal strength or cause pairing issues.
Pairing to GPSMAP® chartplotter
Current GPSMAP device series, select Options > Settings > Communications > Wireless Devices > gWind Wireless > Enable > Follow prompts
The GPSMAP will start searching for the gWind Wireless 2 transducer
1some GPSMAP series have a different menu path see unit specific owner's manual for steps.
Pair to GNX™ Wind Marine Instrument
The GNX™ Wind Marine Instrument will automatically pair with the gWind Wireless 2 as soon as it is within range (~35') of the display and the GNX Wind wireless is "ON". It will then store that gWind Wireless 2 transducer to its memory and will listen for it specifically from that point on.
