Software Update Instructions for the Garmin Index Smart Scale

The Garmin Index™ Smart Scale receives software updates automatically when connected to the Wi-Fi network selected during the setup of the scale. Any update available will be downloaded automatically while the scale is in sleep mode. When the scale is updating software, two circular arrows will display on the screen and the upload progress bar will scroll from left to right. The scale is usable again when the circular arrows and progress bar are no longer displayed.

IMPORTANT: To ensure a software update is installed, step on your scale and upload your metrics to the Garmin Connect™ app. The app will determine if an update is available. Allowing the unit to go to sleep (turn off) will begin the process of downloading and installing available updates. Disturbing the scale during this process may delay the installation of an update. A general rule is to give the scale up to a day or two for an update to install.

Checking Index Smart Scale Software Version:

1. Log into your Garmin Connect account from a computer (software version is not displayed in Garmin Connect App).

2. Select  Device and Sync Status Icon (top right).

3. Select your Index Smart Scale.

4. View Software Version.
