My Garmin Watch Displays the Incorrect Time

Changing time zones during travel or when daylight saving time begins or ends will require you to sync with the Garmin Connect™ app to adjust the time on your watch. In addition to syncing with the app you can also update the time through the following methods:

Garmin Express

The Garmin Express™ program is used on a personal Windows or Macintosh computer. Once installed, you can connect the watch to the computer using your USB charging cable to sync. The time on your watch will reflect the time on your computer.

Acquiring a GPS signal

Watches that have a GPS receiver will also update the time after acquiring a satellite signal. Go outdoors and select an outdoor activity profile, such as Run. Wait for the GPS ready indicator (this will vary by model. Some may say "GPS Ready" while others may have the letters "GPS" turn green when a fix is acquired).

NOTE: Not all watches have integrated GPS. For troubleshooting steps on non-GPS watches, see Related content at the bottom of this FAQ.

My Time is Still Wrong

If your watch still displays the wrong time after following the options above, the time source setting may be set to Manual. Switch this setting to Auto, then apply one of the above methods to update the time.
