Putting Your Collar in Battery Saver Mode With the Alpha 10 Dog Tracking Handheld
Battery Saver Mode (known as Rescue Mode on other Garmin dog tracking handhelds) extends the battery life of the tracking collar allowing for more time to locate the dog. Enabling Battery Saver automatically changes the collar's refresh rate to every 5 minutes when the battery reaches 25% or lower.
It is recommended that you enable the Battery Saver mode either when first adding the collar to the handheld or before starting your hunt.
Enabling Battery Saver on the Alpha® 10 Dog Tracking Handheld
- Press the menu button on the right side to open the Tracked Device list.
- Select a collar.
- Select Edit.
- Select Battery Saver.
- Select Enable/Disable.
Once Battery Saver is enabled for the collar, you will only notice the update rate change if the collar battery drops below 25%. After the collar is recharged, the update rate will automatically revert back to the rate established before Battery Saver Mode was activated.
