RV-BBT600 Series Compatibility with Mac Computers
The Garmin RV-BBT600 series is able to connect to the Garmin Express™ application on a Mac computer; however, the device will not appear as a drive on the desktop and the device's internal files cannot be accessed without special software.
If the device is recognized as being connected but will not fully update it is possible that Mac is running the Time Machine program in the background. To correct this the Time Machine program must be paused. Please refer to the macOS User Guide for instructions.
A Windows computer must be used to view the internal contents of the RV-BBT601. This includes any log files needed for troubleshooting.
If needed, Android File Transfer can be used on a macOS to access these files, but note that Garmin does not develop, support, or host the download for Android File Transfer.
Additionally, when connected to a Mac, these devices will only be recognized or detected by one application at a time. For example, if Garmin Express is open and has detected the device, opening Garmin BaseCamp™ at the same time will result in BaseCamp being unable to find the device until both applications are completely closed and the desired application is re-opened.
Applications which will detect and "use" these devices include, but are not limited to; Garmin Express, Garmin BaseCamp, and the Android File Transfer program mentioned above.
