LED Status Lights on a Garmin GMS 10
Three indicator lights appear above each network port on the GMS 10 Network Port Expander.
LNK/ACT: ON means a link has been established between the GMS 10 and the attached device. A FLASHING light indicates network activity
DUP/COL: ON means the attached device is operating at total network capacity. OFF or a FLASHING light means the connected device is operating at half capacity
100: ON means the network port is running at 100 megabits per second. OFF means it is running at 10 megabits per second
There is also a power LED light. The chartplotter signals the GMS 10 to power up. If there is power going to the GMS 10 but no light, check the marine network cable or replace the marine network cable.
NOTE: In some instances the GMS 10 may be connected in a way to keep it powered on and running even if the Garmin chartplotters are off. Examples of these instances would be to run a Fusion Radio with out the Garmin chartplotters being on. To do this, connect the Yellow wire off of the GMS 10 power cable and connect it to a 12v power sources negative point.
