I Can't Calibrate My Tacx Trainer

If you are unable to calibrate your Tacx® smart trainer in the Tacx Training™ app, review the details below.

Select your style of trainer to reveal troubleshooting tips.

Direct Drive Trainers

If you attempt a calibration and the calibration does not complete, make sure the Tacx Training app software and the smart trainer firmware are up to date. Connect your trainer to the Tacx Training app and attempt to calibrate the trainer again following the on screen instructions in the app. Calibrating using the Tacx Training app is recommended for best results, but the trainer can be calibrated from a compatible Edge® cycling computer if paired as a Smart Trainer.

See Related Content for instructions on how to calibrate your specific model of trainer.

Wheel-On Trainers

If you open the app, attempt to perform a calibration, and you notice the calibration measure is far to the right as shown below:

You will need to confirm the following:

  • You are using a trainer tire (not older than 1 year). (See: Rear Tire Tips When Using an Wheel-On Trainer)

  • The rear tire is inflated to the max pressure recommended for the wheel and tire system.

  • You selected the correct position when placing the trainer resistance unit on the frame stand.

  • If the brake calibration is showing as too tight, you can loosen by turning the adjustment knob to the right.
