Condensation on the VIRB 360 Lens

Storing the VIRB 360 in high humidity conditions increases the risk of lens condensation. To prevent condensation from forming in the lenses of the camera, always store the camera in a cool, dry place, such as indoors with air conditioning, especially during humid weather.

The VIRB 360 also comes with two packs of silica gel, which help absorb moisture.

To use a silica gel pack:

  1. Open the VIRB 360's battery door
    • See the device's owner's manual for information on operating the battery door
  2. Remove the battery
  3. Insert a silica gel pack into the battery compartment
  4. Close the battery door

The camera can now be stored with a lower chance of developing condensation in the lenses. When you are ready to use the camera, remove the silica gel pack and replace the battery.

The camera lens can be removed and cleaned in the event that moisture does develop. For information, see Replacing a Cover Lens.
