Using the Heading Sensor Data from the Cortex® Across the Network

The internal heading sensor exists inside the Cortex® Hub to improve the Anchor Watch accuracy, for use in AIS position updates to correctly angle the AIS icon of the vessel on another vessels AIS screen or MFD, and as a fallback for the heading up orientations of the various plotter and situational views on the handsets. To toggle the output of the Internal Heading sensor on and off, follow the steps listed below.


  1. Press Menu

  2. Select the Wrench Icon

  3. Select Sensors

  4. Select Internal Heading

  5. Select Output to NMEA

  6. Toggle the output to On
