Routes Created in BaseCamp™ Appear Different on an Outdoor Handheld
BaseCamp™ software can be used to create routes that can then be loaded to outdoor devices. If certain parameters are set differently on the device than in BaseCamp™, the route may recalculate using the device parameters.
To reduce changes in routes, confirm the following:
- BaseCamp™ and device software are up to date:
- To update BaseCamp™ software, click the following link: http://www.garmin.com/shop/downloads/baseCamp™
- For help updating the device, see Related
- Route is created in BaseCamp™ program using the same map that is loaded to the device.
- Routing activity profile in BaseCamp™ matches that on the device. Update your device to insure all profiles are up to date. Some devices do not support profiles found in BaseCamp™.
- Avoidances on device match avoidances set in BaseCamp™.
- Set "Off Route Recalculation" to "Prompted". To do this, complete the following steps:
- Select Setup
- Select Routing
- Select Off Route Recalculation
- Select Prompted
Utilizing the above suggestions will help reduce changes made to routes when loaded to the device.
