Battery Type Settings on the GPSMAP 65/s and GPSMAP 66s/st

When using alkaline, NiMH, or lithium batteries in the GPSMAP® 65, 65s, 66s, or 66st outdoor handheld, it may be necessary to change the battery type settings.

NOTE: When using the Garmin NiMH Battery Pack the AA Battery Type options are overridden and removed from the System menu (see Re-charging the Garmin Ni-MH Battery Pack in a compatible Outdoor Handheld for more details)

  1. Press Menu twice to access the Main Menu
  2. Select Setup
  3. Select System
  4. Select AA Battery Type
  5. Select Alkaline, Lithium, Traditional NiMH, or Precharged NiMH
