Important Notes About Using the Information Request Form
- If you are a relative or friend concerned about the safety of an inReach user, requests regarding information about said user or requests to contact a Garmin user in the field must be completed and submitted by a law enforcement agency.
- Garmin does not provide information associated with the inReach user unless an appropriate request is made by law enforcement regarding the emergency.
Locating or Sending a Message to an inReach Device
- If you are a relative or friend trying to locate or send a message to an inReach user in the field, see - Sending a Message to an inReach Device.
- If the relative or friend that is in contact with the inReach user believes that the user in the field is in danger or has an emergency, the Emergency Law Enforcement Information Request form should indicate that circumstances are believed to have made the user unable to initiate an SOS from the inReach device for a medical reason.
