Replacing the Battery of a Garmin Outdoor Watch or Garmin Dive Computer
Garmin Outdoor watches and dive computers use a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that is not user-replaceable. However, the below information will guide you through common troubleshooting to verify if a new battery would be needed.
Common Solutions for Batteries
Often power issues are not related to a battery failure. If the device is not charging or is quickly losing power:
Try cleaning the charging contacts on the back of the watch and on the charging cable with rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab. For more information on cleaning your watch, see - Wear and Care Tips for Garmin Watches.
If a battery power issue is still present, it is possible the issue is software related, in which case check for any available software updates. Software can be updated using Garmin Express™.
Charge the battery for several hours, even if the display does not show the device charging, before determining that the battery is no longer functioning as intended.
