nüvi® 700 Series Device Doesn't Have Any Sound
Check the Audio Output setting on the nüvi®. There is a possibility that the FM Transmitter setting has been turned on or that the device has been muted.
To Check the Audio Output Settings:
- Touch the Volume Quick Settings menu (next to the Wrench icon)
- At the bottom of the screen, touch FM Trans
- If a check displays in the Enable FM Transmitter option, clear it
- Select Back
- If a check displays in the Mute option, clear it
- Ensure that the volume is at a reasonable percent level
- Touch Back until you return to the main menu
If you are still not getting any sound you may want to check the volume levels on the device:
To Check the Volume Levels:
- Touch the Tools/Wrench icon
- Touch Settings
- Touch the down arrow
- Touch Volume
- If a check displays in either Mute option, clear it
- Ensure that each volume option is at a reasonable level
- Touch Back until you return to the main menu
At this time you should be receiving sound on your device.
If changing the audio output settings resolves the issue, the language files may need to be updated on your device. For steps to do so, see Missing or Corrupt Voice Files on an Automotive Device.
If checking the audio output settings and volume levels did not restore the sound on your device, you will need to ensure that you are running the latest software which can be done with Garmin Express.
For more information, see Updating Automotive Maps and Software with Garmin Express for steps on updating the software on your Garmin device.
