Garmin ActiveCaptain® Smart Notifications Setup

WARNING: Do not read or reply to notifications while operating the vessel. Failure to pay attention to the conditions on the water can result in vessel damage, personal injury, or death.

Smart Notifications are a Bluetooth connection between the smart mobile device and the fishfinder / chartplotter.  However, before the fishfinder / chartplotter can receive notifications the Wi-Fi network on the fishfinder or chartplotter must be set up and the mobile smart device with the ActiveCaptain® app must have an initial pairing.  Once the first Wi-Fi network pairing has occurred then smart notifications can be enabled.  Later connections with smart notifications can occur with a Bluetooth connection only, no Wi-Fi network pairing required and the ActiveCaptain app running in the background of the mobile smart device.

Note:
• Not all chartplotters and fishfinders have compatibility with smart notifications. To verify compatibility refer to:   ActiveCaptain® App Compatibility
• The available smart notification actions depend on the type of notification, permissions allowed on the smart device and the smart device operating system.
