(2023) Service Bulletin 23019 Rev A: G1000 Legacy/NXi Overhead Panel Lighting Modification
PRODUCTS AFFECTED:
G1000 Legacy/NXi equipped Textron Aviation Inc. B200/B200C/B200GT King Air aircraft with the following serial numbers:
- B200: BB-1834, BB-1843 and after
- B200C: BL-148 and after
- B200GT: BY-1 thru BY-206, BY-208 thru BY-238, BY-240 thru BY-249
previously equipped with Proline 21 avionics, that were installed under Master Drawing List, 005-00421-00 rev 38 or earlier, and that is determined to be affected by the procedure below.
Determine if the aircraft is affected by performing the following check:
- Apply aircraft power.
- Select BATT master switch to ON.
- Select AVIONICS MASTER PWR switch to ON.
- Turn the MASTER PANEL LIGHTS switch to ON.
- Apply power to all G1000 display units, to include standby instruments.
- With all lighting control knobs in the OFF position, turn both the MFD and STANDBY INSTRUMENT LIGHTS knobs to the midpoint level.
- Turn the MFD and STANDBY INSTRUMENT LIGHTS knobs from full dim to full bright.
- If either the MFD or standby instrument displays do not respond to the input, the aircraft IS affected by this issue.
- If lighting control occurs on both displays, pull the MFD & STBY INSTR circuit breaker.
- If lighting control still occurs with circuit breaker pulled, your aircraft IS affected by this issue.
- If lighting control occurs on both displays and pulling the MFD & STBY INSTR circuit breaker renders the lighting control function inoperative, the aircraft is NOT affected by this Service Bulletin.

COMPLIANCE:
Recommended: Garmin recommends accomplishing STC Service Bulletin 23019 at the next scheduled service interval.
PURPOSE:
STC installation drawings contain errors that result in the backlight lighting control function of the MFD and Standby Instruments being wired to the wrong circuit breaker and could be wired in a manner that does not allow them to function as intended.
WARRANTY INFORMATION:
Labor costs incurred with this modification are reimbursable for G1000® Legacy/NXi systems covered by the original Garmin Warranty.
The warranty claim must be submitted by 8/31/24.
NOTE
Installations completed after the release of this bulletin are not eligible for warranty reimbursement.
