Privacy Setting Information for Rino 100 and 500 Series

The Rino® 100 and 500 series handhelds offer two features that can help keep a conversation between a group of individuals private. These security features are the squelch codes and the scramble setting.

The Rino devices use sub-audible squelch tones, that are considered industry standard and are compatible with most radios on the market.

The voice scrambler setting is a frequency inversion scrambler. There are no digital encryptions and both the squelch codes and voice scrambler are intended to offer the user a somewhat private communication channel.
