Resetting a Monterra
When resetting a Monterra™ outdoor handheld the Android system reset is not recommended as this clears all app, map, GPS user data (waypoints, routes, tracks, geocaches), and Google account information from the device.
As an alternative, the Clear Data function can be used. This will clear Garmin specific application preferences, profiles, and launcher layouts. GPX files and installed maps will be unaffected.
Clearing Device Data
- Touch the Menu key (the three white lines).
- Touch System settings.
- Touch Apps.
- Touch the All tab.
- Touch Garmin Outdoor Apps.
- Touch Clear Data.
The affected preferences and data will then be reset to their original settings.
Full Reset
If unable to access the menus to reset the Monterra handheld, there is another way to reset the unit via the stock Android system recovery. Like the Android system reset, this will clear all app, map, GPS user data (waypoints, routes, tracks, geocaches), and Google account information from the device.
