Using Rescue Mode on a DC 50 or T Series Collar with an Astro Dog Tracking Handheld
If you are concerned about your dog becoming lost and running the battery down, you can enable Rescue Mode. Rescue mode extends the battery life of the collar to allow for more time to locate the dog. If Rescue Mode is enabled, when the collar reaches 25% battery life the update rate automatically changes to 2 minutes to provide the maximum battery life while still transmitting location information.
The handheld must be within 10 feet (3m) of the collar in order to enable the feature. It is recommended that you enable the Rescue Mode either when first adding the collar to the handheld or before starting your hunt.
To enable Rescue Mode:
- Press Dog
- Select the Dog's name
- Select Show Info
- Press Menu
- Select Rescue Mode
- Select On
When Rescue Mode is enabled, the update rate will only change if the handheld detects that the collar battery has dropped below 25%. At that time, the update rate for the collar will change to every two minutes.
