Custom Route Changes to Follow Roads on Older Outdoor Handhelds
Some outdoor handheld devices have autorouting capabilities, so they calculate the route in accordance to how it is set up. If a custom route keeps changing to route on a road on the map, Off Road will need to be selected for the Guidance Method instead of what is currently selected. Only in Off Road mode will a device ignore the roads and paths shown in an autorouting map and follow the custom created route.
To change the routing preference on these devices:
From the main menu or shortcuts menu, select Setup.
Select Routing.
Select Guidance Method.
Select Off Road.
