Export of Large Video Files with VIRB Edit Fails
Description
Videos contain a lot of data. High detail and long length will increase the length of time it takes to export and/or upload a video. If the file is too big, the export may fail. VIRB Edit uses Media Foundation, a Windows Media API, to export MP4 files which has a file size limitation of 4 gigabytes (GB) on Windows 7, but should not be limited in newer versions of Windows.
Resolution
There are a few troubleshooting steps that can be taken to resolve this issue:
- If an export error occurs in Windows 7, decrease the video’s length or use a lower resolution to reduce the file size of the video to less than 4GB
- Using smaller files will decrease the length of time for processing the video and prevent errors during the export process.
- Check to make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements for VIRB Edit
- Check with your PC or video card manufacturer to ensure your display adapter drivers are up to date
Taking these steps will help to make sure that you can successfully export your videos through VIRB Edit.
