Tri-Tronics G3 Series Transmitter Blinking on Charge or No LED Light Shown

If the Tri-Tronics® G3® series transmitter1 is not charging, blinking on charge, or no LED light is shown, it is possible that there are connection problems with the cradle.

There are a couple of steps that can be taken if the device is showing these symptoms:

  • Attach and reattach the charging cradle
    • A click should be felt and you should be able to pick up the transmitter with the cradle still attached
  • Ensure the contacts on the handheld and cradle are clean
    • For the best way to clean contacts, select Cleaning Contacts below
  • Leave the device charging on the cradle for 12-24 hours
    • If at the end of 12 hours it is still blinking, remove it for a few moments. Then place it back into the cradle for another 12 hours
  • Perform a recharge cycle:
    1. Connect device to charger
    2. Charge battery for 2 hours
    3. Take device off charger
    4. Repeat steps 1-3 two times

If your transmitter is still not working as intended, it may be due to the age of your battery and that might keep it from holding a charge or holding a charge for long.

Cleaning Contacts

In some cases, one of the contact points on the back of the device or on the charging accessory may have become oxidized or build up from general use can also occur. This can prevent the device from receiving a proper charge. If the device is not taking a charge, try cleaning the contacts on both the watch and the charging cradle.

The following non-abrasive substances can be used to clean the contacts:

  • Rubbing alcohol/Isopropyl (Recommended method)
  • Eye glass cleaner
  • Electronic screen wipes
  • Pencil eraser

Once all contacts have been cleaned, clear any debris or liquid, connect the device to the cradle to charge
