Location of Geotagged Photos for BaseCamp

BaseCamp™ software is able to view and organize geotagged photos from many different sources. When imported from a Garmin GPS unit into the My Collection folder the photos are saved on the computer. Geotagged photos are stored in the following locations:

Windows 11, 10, 8, 7, and Vista:

C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\BaseCamp\GeotaggedPhotos

NOTE: With Windows 11 and 10, the folder will be need to be un-hidden

Windows XP:

C:\Documents and Settings\%UserName%\Application Data\Garmin\BaseCamp\GeotaggedPhotos

Mac OS X:

~user/Pictures/Garmin

The %UserName% is the User account that BaseCamp software was installed in and Application Data and AppData folders are hidden.

Do not copy geotagged photos into these folders. They will not be recognized and when trying to import them from this folder they will be corrupted. Geotagged photos must be imported from a different source folder or from a Garmin GPS device.
