Access thousands of trails, and their ratings and reviews, through the Garmin Connect™ app or the Garmin Explore™ app, then send them directly to your compatible device so you can go offline and navigate with confidence with an active Garmin Connect+ or Outdoor Maps+ subscription.

Where are Trails Available?

Trails can be found in the following regions:

  • Austria

  • Germany

  • Liechtenstein

  • Switzerland

  • United States

New trails in different regions will be added periodically.

How Do I Send a Trail to My Device?

Select your platform to reveal instructions.


Garmin Connect App

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Select More.

  3. Select Training & Planning.

  4. Select Garmin Trails.

  5. Scroll on the map to search trails in a specific region.

  6. Swipe up from the bottom to see trail details.

  7. Select a trail.

  8. Select Send to Device.

  9. Select your preferred device.


Garmin Connect Website

  1. From a web browser, sign into your Garmin Connect account.

  2. Select Circle with an arrow pointing right from the upper left corner to expand the menu navigation.

  3. Select Training & Planning.

  4. Select Garmin Trails.

  5. Select a trail.

    • You can also select Filters to filter displayed trails by length, total ascent, rating, difficulty, trail type, or features.
  6. Select Send to Device.

  7. Select your preferred device.

  8. Select Send to Device.

  9. Open the Garmin Express™ program and sync your device.


Garmin Explore App

  1. Open the Garmin Explore app.

  2. Select Three Stacked Layers and the map layers will display on the page.

  3. Select Garmin Trails under Map Details to show trails on the map.

    You can also select Filters to filter displayed trails by length, total ascent, rating, difficulty, trail type, or features.

  4. Tap X to return to the map, then scroll on the map to search trails in a specific region.

  5. Tap a point on the map, then swipe up from the bottom to see a list of trails near the selected map point.

  6. Select a trail.

  7. Select Bookmark Icon Save.

  8. Select Watch and Handheld Devices.

  9. Select the device you wish to send the trail to.

  10. Select Explore Sync Icon.

    • The sync icon has to be orange to manually perform a sync. If the icon is gray, this usually indicates a recent or upcoming sync.

  11. Wait for the sync to complete.

When the sync is finished, the icon will change to gray and display the time of the last sync. The saved trail will then be available on the synced Garmin device.

How Do I Report an Issue With a Trail?

Select your platform to reveal instructions.


Garmin Connect App

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Select More.

  3. Select Training & Planning.

  4. Select Garmin Trails.

  5. Scroll on the map to search trails in a specific region.

  6. Swipe up from the bottom to see trail details.

  7. Select a trail.

  8. From the action options under the title, swipe and select Report Issue.

  9. Select an issue category.

  10. Fill out the form.

  11. Select Report Issue.


Garmin Connect Website

  1. From a web browser, sign into your Garmin Connect account.

  2. Select Circle with an arrow pointing right from the upper left corner to expand the menu navigation.

  3. Select Training & Planning.

  4. Select Garmin Trails.

  5. Select a trail.

  6. Select the three dots (bottom right of the trail information pane).

  7. Select Report an issue.

  8. Select an issue category.

  9. Fill out the report feedback.

  10. Select Report Issue.


Garmin Explore App

  1. Open the Garmin Explore app.

  2. Select Three Stacked Layers and the map layers will display on the page.

  3. Select Garmin Trails under Map Details to show trails on the map.

  7. Select Three Dots in a Box.

  8. Select Report Issue.

  9. Select what kind of issue you are reporting:

    • Trail description is missing important information.

    • Trail name could be improved.

    • Trail mapping needs to be corrected.

    • Trail is indefinitely closed.

    • Other

  10. Fill out the form and select Report Issue.

Can I Suggest a Better Description for a Trail?

  2. Select More.

  3. Select Training & Planning.

  4. Select Garmin Trails.

  5. Scroll on the map to search trails in a specific region.

  6. Swipe up from the bottom to see trail details.

  7. Select a trail.

  8. Scroll down to the trail description and select Suggest a description update.

  9. Fill out the form.

  10. Select Suggest Update.

  1. From a web browser, sign into your Garmin Connect account.

  4. Select Garmin Trails.

How Do I Remove My Review?

Select your platform to reveal instructions.


Garmin Connect App

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Select More.

  3. Select Training & Planning.

  4. Select Garmin Trails.

  5. Select Three Dots in the top right corner.

  6. Select My Trail Reviews.

  7. Select Three Dots in the top right corner of the review you would like to delete.

  8. Select Delete.

  9. Confirm deletion.


Garmin Connect Website

  1. From a web browser, sign into your Garmin Connect account.

  2. Select Circle with an arrow pointing right from the upper left corner to expand the menu navigation.

  3. Select Training & Planning.

  4. Select Garmin Trails.

  5. Select a trail.

  6. Select the three dots (top right of the trail information pane).

  7. Select My Reviews.

  8. Select Delete on the review you want to remove.

  9. Select Delete to confirm. Once deleted this cannot be undone.
