Transferring Information from BaseCamp to a Garmin Tread Series, or zūmo XT / zūmo XT2
Some automotive devices are not compatible with the BaseCamp™ software.
When using the Tread® GPS navigators and the zumo XT2, it is recommended to use the Tread® App for managing waypoints, routes, and tracks. and instead use other external software such as the Tread® app or the Garmin Explore™ website for route and waypoint management, in addition to their built-in route planning capabilities. You can use the steps below to migrate information you have created in BaseCamp onto your device:
1. Export User Data from BaseCamp
Use Exporting User Data from BaseCamp Software to export BaseCamp data as a GPX file.
2. Import GPX File to Device, Tread App, or the Garmin Explore website
For instructions on importing this file to your device, Click on Support Center, enter your product name or serial number. Once your device is entered, search for Importing and Sending GPX files.

This will require sending the GPX file to your phone first.
The zūmo® XT GPS navigator is not compatible with the Tread app. However, GPX files can be imported using the Garmin Drive™ app. See Importing and Sending GPX Files onto a zūmo XT GPS Navigator for instructions.

Information that is added to the Garmin Explore account from the website or app, will be added to the device the next time it connects with the Tread app. Information that is added to your device will be added to the Garmin Explore account the next time it connects with the Tread app. For the zumo XT, this information is added the next time it connects to the Garmin Drive app.
When using the zūmo® XT2 GPS navigator, Tread® GPS Navigator, and all other models in the Tread® series, it is recommended to use the Tread® app for managing waypoints, routes, and tracks. The Garmin Explore website can be used to manage waypoints and tracks, but does not support route creation for the zūmo® XT2 and Tread devices.
When available, importing to the Tread app or the device are the best and most direct methods for automotive devices. For future route creation, it is recommended to use the Route Planner in the Tread app on compatible devices.
