GPSMAP 276Cx Time to Destination
The GPSMAP® 276Cx outdoor handheld may display a different Time to Destination than you are expecting.
The devices now use Distance to Destination over the Speed Moving Average over the to calculate the Time to Destination when navigating.
Adding the Speed Moving Avg data field to the trip computer will give the user an idea of how the device calculates the Time to Destination.
Since the average speed is most likely not the same as the current speed, there will be a difference to the Time to Destination versus what the user would expect. Once the average speed catches up with the current speed, then the Time to Destination will be more accurate.
If the trip computer has recorded a lot of idle time, such as in staging areas or parking lots, reset the trip data at the beginning of the trip and the Moving Average will be much closer to the current speed. This will make the Time to Destination calculation much more accurate.
