CERTIFICATION AUTHORIZATION:

TSO Authorization

TSO Authorization does not provide installation airworthiness approval. Separate installation airworthiness approval is required for type-certified aircraft. Notification of revision to any Garmin STC(s) will be provided under a separate service bulletin.

COMPLIANCE:

Recommended: Compliance with TSO Service Bulletin 23076 is recommended at the next scheduled maintenance interval.

DOCUMENTATION CONSIDERATIONS:

The current revision of the GTX 3X5 Series Pilot’s Guide (Garmin P/N 190-01499-00) Rev G is applicable. Pilot Guides are available at www.garmin.com/manuals.

PURPOSE:

GTX 45R/GTX 345 Series ADS-B Software Version 3.51 contains the following changes:

  • Expanded GTX AHRS availability to all aircraft categories, including rotorcraft.
  • Improved the AHRS calibration procedure and calibration validity checks.
  • Corrected an issue where assert log information could not be downloaded using HSDB.
  • Expanded support for flight data log retrieval using HSDB.
  • Expanded support for transponder health diagnostic information to be transmitted using HSDB.
  • Added TCAS II operating modes to be forwarded via HSDB for integrated traffic display support.
  • Expanded support for sourcing of different sensor data for additional systems that have a pilot/copilot flight director transfer switch.
  • Expanded flight data logging capability to include internal AHRS data.
  • Improved the ADS-B SURF application status reporting.
  • Addressed a timing issue that could result in TAS/TCAS-only targets being temporarily removed from the traffic display intermittently.
  • Corrected an issue where daily NOTAM TFRs were only displayed on the first day that they were published. Daily NOTAM TFRs are now displayed until they are no longer active.
  • Updated aural alert processing to use a heading-based bearing for TAS/TCAS targets. This now matches functionality for ADS-B targets and improves directional callout accuracy primarily for rotorcraft.
