Using the Menstrual Cycle Tracking Feature

You can choose to track your menstrual cycle in your Garmin Connect™ account. In doing so, you will receive guidance around nutrition, training, and general health, as well as period and fertility predictions.

Compatible Garmin devices also feature a Menstrual Cycle Tracking glance where you will be able to check which day of your cycle you are on, see the full length of your cycle, and view and log your symptoms daily. For instructions on adding glances, see Using Glances on a Compatible Garmin Watch. To see if your device supports Menstrual Cycle Tracking, refer to your owner's manual

Setting Up the Menstrual Cycle Tracking Feature

You can set up the Menstrual Cycle Tracking feature either in the Garmin Connect app or the website.


Garmin Connect App

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Select More (bottom right).

  3. Select Health Stats or Health & Performance.

  4. Select Menstrual Cycle.

  5. Select Get Started and follow the on-screen instructions.


Garmin Connect Web

  1. From a web browser, sign into your Garmin Connect account. 

  2. Select Health Stats from the navigation bar on the left.

  3. Select Menstrual Cycle.

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Menstrual Cycle Tracking - At a Glance:

The Menstrual Cycle glance in Garmin Connect web and in the Garmin Connect app shows which cycle day you are on, which phase of the cycle you are on, and when the next phase will begin. Selecting the card will open the Menstrual Cycle screen.

Viewing MCT Calendar and Editing your Period

NOTE: Making changes to your past periods or current period may change your predicted cycle length and predicted period duration. Updating the cycle length in the middle of your current cycle will not update the current cycle. Changing the cycle length will only update the next month. To edit the cycle length for the current month, manually edit your period days on the calendar.


Garmin Connect App

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Select More (bottom right).

  3. Select Health Stats.

  4. Select Menstrual Cycle.

  5. Select View Calendar.

  6. Select Edit Period if you want to edit the current or previous month. 


Garmin Connect Web

  1. From a web browser, sign into your Garmin Connect account. 

  2. Select Health Stats from the navigation bar on the left.

  3. Select Menstrual Cycle.

  4. Select View Calendar.

  5. Select Edit Period if you want to edit the current or previous month.

Adding Daily Symptoms

You can log your physical symptoms, mood, discharge, ovulation, sexual activity, and sex drive. To log your symptoms, follow the steps below:


Garmin Connect App

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Select More (bottom right).

  3. Select Health Stats.

  4. Select Menstrual Cycle.

  5. Select Add Symptoms Add Glance.

  6. Select your symptoms. 

  7. Select Save (top right).


Garmin Connect Web

  1. From a web browser, sign into your Garmin Connect account. 

  2. Select Health Stats from the navigation bar on the left.

  3. Select Menstrual Cycle.

  4. Select Add Symptoms MCT next to Today's Symptoms to add yours. 

  5. Select your symptoms.

  6. Select Save (bottom right).

Editing Menstrual Cycle Settings

Your Menstrual Cycle Settings can be adjusted in the Garmin Connect app or through Garmin Connect web. Choose your preferred platform below to reveal instructions.


Garmin Connect App

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Select More (bottom right).

  3. Select Health Stats.

  4. Select the Menstrual Cycle card.

  5. Select 3 dots (top right).

  6. Select Settings.

  7. Adjust the settings as desired.

NOTE: The cycle length and period duration values are used for predicting the next cycle and period. The actual cycle length and period duration are calculated based on your past tracked periods.


Garmin Connect Web

  1. From a web browser, sign into your Garmin Connect account.

  2. Select Health Stats from the navigation bar on the left.

  3. Select Menstrual Cycle.

  4. Select Gearon the top right.

  5. Select Settings.

  6. Adjust the settings under Women’s Health.

  7. Select Save (bottom of page).

NOTE: The cycle length and period duration values are used for predicting the next cycle and period. The actual cycle length and period duration are calculated based on your past tracked periods.

Setting Reminders

You can set period and logging reminders on the Garmin Connect app so that you can be notified about upcoming periods and not forget to log symptoms. Follow the steps below to set reminders on the Garmin Connect app:

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Select More (bottom right).

  3. Select Health Stats.

  4. Select Menstrual Cycle.

  5. Select 3 dots on the top right.

  6. Select Reminders.

  7. Adjust the reminders as desired.

Syncing the Menstrual Cycle Tracking Glance

If using the Menstrual Cycle Tracking widget on a compatible watch, you can check which day of your cycle you are on, see the full length of your cycle, and view and log your daily symptoms from your watch. To sync your menstrual tracking data on your watch with Garmin Connect, you must sync your watch using the Garmin Connect app. Menstrual cycle tracking data cannot be synced using the Garmin Express™ software on a computer. 

NOTE: If Menstrual Cycle Tracking is set up on a Garmin Connect account, the data will remain in the various menus of the account such as Reports and Health Stats regardless of any changes to cycle type or other user settings (including gender).

I Do Not See a Women's Health or Menstrual Cycle Tracking Glance on my Watch

After setting up Menstrual Cycle Tracking in your Connect app, you may want to utilize a glance or widget on your watch to track your cycles. Newer Garmin watches are compatible with the Women's Health Tracking app, which you can install via the Connect IQ Store app. Many older Garmin watches are compatible with the Menstrual Cycle Tracking app, which is also available in the Connect IQ Store..
