Instructions to Sync Deezer Content to a Descent Mk3 Watches

This article will provide instructions to setup and sync Deezer music and podcasts to Descent™ Mk3 - 43 mm, Descent™ Mk3i - 43 mm, and Descent™ Mk3i - 51 mm watches.

The following are requirements to use the Deezer app with your watch:

The three steps listed below need to be completed when first setting up the Deezer app with your watch. Once complete, you will only need to follow the third step when you want to load additional content to your watch. Select each section to expand and view instructions on completing each step:

Step 1: Download and Install the Deezer Connect IQ™ App

  1. On the watch, press START to access the activity and app list.

  2. Select Connect IQ™ Store.

  3. Select Must Haves.

  4. Scroll to and select Deezer.

  5. Press START to confirm and install the app.

Once the Deezer app finishes installing you are ready to move to Step 2.

If the Deezer app is not listed under recommended apps, it can still be installed via the Connect IQ store app or the Connect IQ store on the web using the steps below.

Manually Installing the Deezer App Using the Connect IQ Store App

You can install Connect IQ app content to your watch by following the instructions in Installing Connect IQ Content Using the Connect IQ Store App. 

Manually Installing the Deezer App Using the Connect IQ Store on the Web

  1. Select the following link to download the app: Deezer Connect IQ App.

  2. Select Blue Download Button button.

  3. If prompted, sign into your Garmin account.

  4. Select your watch to download the app.

  5. Acknowledge any app permission requests.

  6. Message should indicate that the app will be installed during the next sync. If this does not occur automatically, below are options to sync your watch:

    • To sync via Bluetooth: Be in range of your paired smartphone, open the Garmin Connect app, and select blue sync arrows to sync.

    • To sync via Wi-Fi: Be in range of your previously set up Wi-Fi network, and hold Menu on the watch. Select Connectivity > Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi Sync and wait while the watch connects and syncs.

    • To sync using the Garmin Express™ program: Connect the watch to a computer using the supplied power/data cable. Open the Garmin Express program. Sync will automatically occur once the watch is detected.

Once the sync is complete, the Deezer app will be installed onto your watch. You are ready to move to Step 2.

Step 2: Setup the Deezer Connect IQ App

Your watch must be connected to your Wi-Fi network and your paired smartphone.

  1. On the watch, press and hold Down (the music shortcut key).

  2. Select Deezer.
    Optional: If you already have a music provider selected, press and hold Menu then select Music Providers.

  3. The watch will display the message, Open Garmin Connect on Phone.

  4. Select Next.

  5. Your smartphone will ask you to sign in.

  6. Acknowledge the message on the phone which will take you to a Deezer sign in. Depending on whether you have an account, the login process will be as follows:

    • Existing Deezer users: Enter your login details and select login. From here, skip to Step 3.

    • New to Deezer: Select Register here, and follow the steps to create your account.

  7. If prompted, enter credit card details to complete the process.

Step 3: Selecting and Syncing Content to the Watch

From your Deezer account, create playlists or you can download existing playlists. For more information, see Make playlists or edit an existing Deezer playlist on Deezer Support.

  1. On the watch, press and hold Down (the music shortcut key).

  2. Press and hold Menu to access settings.

  3. Select Music Providers.

  4. Select Deezer.

  5. Select My Playlists.

  6. Select a playlist.

  7. Select Done.

  8. Press the Back button and select yes to Start music sync now?

At this point, the watch will connect to your Wi-Fi network. We recommend plugging the watch into a charger near the Wi-Fi router for the best results.
