Ranking of Garmin Segments on the Leaderboard and in Activities
Your rank within a Garmin Segment can differ depending on where you view rankings. You can view a ranking from either the Segment Leaderboard or you can view from within an activity under the Segments tab.
NOTE: Ranking within a Garmin segment will only occur for activities recorded after the segment was created. Your Garmin Connect™ account does not perform a historical match of previously recorded activities. You can choose the Match New Segments option from a previously recorded activity under the Segments tab of an Activity to refresh the current leaderboards.
Leaderboard Rankings
Make sure your activity privacy is set accordingly so your activities will show on the segment leaderboards. For example, your activity will not show up on a leaderboard with everyone if your privacy is set to My Connections (see Adjusting Privacy Settings in Garmin Connect).
Rankings will change based on the selections that are made at the top of the Leaderboard:
NOTE: Leaderboard filtering for the last 30 days can return no results even if you have posted a time within the last 30 days. This issue can occur if you have a personal record that is 30+ days old and quicker than your more recent attempt. To get an accurate ranking in leaderboards filtered by gender or age, be sure to fill in the appropriate information in your User Settings under Personal Information.
Activity Rankings
Segment rankings viewed in the activity are based on your Personal Record (PR) for that specific segment in that specific activity.
For example, if you have crossed a segment multiple times and this specific segment is not your PR you will simply see (--) as your Ranking. Otherwise, the number displayed under Rank is the accomplishment for that segment against all other riders.
