Sending Logs From the Garmin Express™ App to Garmin Product Support

NOTE: The files sent through Garmin Express™ software will not include map files or map images.

The Garmin Express™ software creates a set of log files on the computer when it is running. These files contain information that will allow Product Support to identify the issue and provide a resolution in a timely manner.

The log files may be requested by Product Support when working to resolve an issue.


To Collect Logs From the Computer Using Garmin Express:

Select your platform below to reveal instructions:


Windows
    1. Open Garmin Express.

    2. Select the Help icon (?) in the upper right-hand corner.

    3. Select Send Reports.

    4. Enter the code provided by Garmin Product Support (Code only valid for 30 days).

    5. Select the checkbox to confirm I have read and agree to the Terms of Use.

    6. Select the Select a Device dropdown and choose your connected Garmin device.

    7. Select Submit.

Let Product Support know when you have completed the steps.

If using Garmin Express to gather the logs is not an option, see the instructions below to collect logs manually.


Mac
    1. Open Garmin Express.

    2. Select Help in the menu bar.

    3. Select Garmin Express Help.

    4. Select Send Reports.

    5. Enter the code provided by Garmin Product Support (Code only valid for 30 days).

    6. Select the checkbox to confirm I have read and agree to the Terms of Use.

    7. Select the Select a Device dropdown and choose your connected Garmin device.

    8. Select Submit.

To Collect Logs Manually:

NOTE: Device information will not appear when logs are collected manually.

Select your platform below to reveal instructions:


Windows
    1. Download the Garmin Log Collector by clicking on this link: https://download.garmin.com/omt/tools/GarminExpressLogCollector.exe

    2. Run the GarminExpressLogCollector.exe and select Find log files.

    3. A Garmin Express log zip will be placed on the desktop.

    4. Upload the logs using the Secure File Upload.

Let Product Support know when you have completed the steps.


Mac
    1. Select Finder or Macintosh HD from desktop.

    2. Select Go from the Mac menu bar (gray bar at the top of the screen).

    3. Select Go to Folder…

    4. Empty the Go to the folder: text field if text exists.

    5. Type in the following: ~/Library/Application Support/Garmin/Express/Logs.

      • Locate Client_(most recent date) and Service_ (most recent date) files.

    6. Upload the logs using the Secure File Upload.
