Change Route Preference or Calculation Mode on a Kenwood Device

Your Kenwood device allows you to select from multiple route preference options. 

This route preference setting can be changed by following the steps below:

1. Turn the Kenwood on
2. Press the NAV button or the V.SEL button to bring up the navigation screen
3. Touch Settings
4. Touch Navigation
5. Touch Preference or Calculation Mode
6. Choose your preference
   • Faster Time: Routes calculated with this setting are faster to drive but may be longer in distance.
   • Shorter Distance: Routes calculated with this setting will be shorter in total miles driven but may take longer to drive.
   • Off Road: Routes calculated with this setting are displayed as a direct-line route/bearing from your current location to the destination.
   • Less Fuel: The device uses distance and posted speed limits to calculate a route that will use less fuel.
   • Prompted: The device will prompt you to choose one of the above route preferences when starting a new route.
7. Touch OK or Save to save the change

Repeat these steps as desired.

Note: Not all Kenwood devices have all of the above route preferences available.
