Requesting Weather Forecasts with the Garmin Overlander
When the Overlander® GPS navigator is paired to an inReach® satellite communicator, it is able to request Basic, Premium, or Marine weather forecasts to be delivered back to the inReach device through the inReach Remote app. This article will cover how to request weather forecasts from the inReach Remote app only. Select your inReach device in Support Center and search for weather for instructions on how to request a weather forecast using the inReach device directly. IMPORTANT
Requesting Weather Forecasts is only available when the Overlander navigator is connected to an inReach device loaded with the 2.11 or later firmware version. If you do not have an option for Weather in the app, use the instructions found in Wireless Map and Software Update Instructions to update the Overlander navigator, then visit Help With Product Updates and search for your specific inReach model for steps on updating the inReach communicator.
Requesting Weather Forecasts
The steps for requesting a weather forecast will vary depending on what model of inReach device is connected. Select one of the options below for instructions.
Have a Garmin inReach Mini, inReach Explorer®+, or inReach SE®+ Communicator?
NOTE:A marine forecast will be included for locations on an ocean or other large body of water, if available. If you are unable to get a marine forecast, select a location further from shore.
Ensure your inReach device is powered on and paired with with the inReach Remote app.
On the Overlander navigator, select .
Touch .
Select Weather. OPTIONAL: Toggle on Premium and/or Marine if desired.
Select My Location or select a different location from the list.
NOTE: Additional locations will only be available if they have been added directly through the weather option on the inReach device.
Touch to request your forecast.
Select Get Forecast to confirm your request.
Once weather has been received, the page will update with the weather.
Have a Different Garmin inReach Device?

Select Weather.
Select + or Get Forecast. OPTIONAL: Select Forecast Type, Forecast Location, or Marine to change any of these settings.

Select Forecast Type.
Select Basic or Premium.
Forecast Location
Select Forecast Location.
Select an option:
My Location: Sets the forecast to your current location.
Select Waypoint: Select a waypoint from the list when prompted.
Select from Map: Tap a location on the map, then select Save. Enter a name for the location (optional), then select Save again.
Marine
Select Marine.
Select Enabled or Disabled.
Select Get Forecast.
Once weather has been received, the page will update with the weather.
