Timed Sets on the Garmin Swim
There are two types of rest timers available on the Garmin Swim to make it easy to do Timed Sets. The Rest Timer will first need to be enabled and can be turned on before or during the swim.
To Turn on the Rest Timers:
- Press Menu button
- Select Swimming
- Select Rest Timer
- Choose Enable
Simply select the Swimmer Button to get back to Swim Mode from the Menu.
Press Pause when a swim interval is completed to view the rest timers. A brief pop-up will display the time and distance for the interval completed. Page 1 will show two rest timers. The top timer continues counting up after Paused is pressed, essentially showing the swim time plus rest time.
To illustrate, if doing repeats of 50 m on 55 seconds, the Garmin Swim will count up to 55 seconds. Press Pause and push-off for your next 50 m swim.
The bottom rest timer starts counting from 0:00 when Pause is pressed. This timer tells how long the resting period is.
NOTE: Interval Distance and Interval Time information usually displayed on Page 1 will be found on Page 3 when rest timers are enabled.
