Viewing Upcoming Elevation Changes on the RV 780 or RV 785

To help avoid or plan for steep uphill or downhill grades along your current route:

Note: The device must be in an active route for the Elevation option to be selected.

1. Touch View Map

2. Touch the  menu icon in the lower right corner

3. Touch Elevation

4. Touch the chart to expand it to full-screen mode

The device will now display the current elevation, distance to the next steep grade, and a chart of elevation over distance.

• The blue banner shows current elevation based on satellite data.
• The blue line represents your current location on the route.
• The graph elevation is based on map data.
• The brown line represents a tunnel.
• Depending on satellite strength, your current elevation and the elevation shown at your current position in the graph can differ; this is normal.

Steep grades are highlighted in red on the chart. Swipe left or right to scroll through the chart. Selecting the or  zoom buttons will change the distance range of the chart.

A grade alert will appear when approaching a grade warning sign on the road. If the alert shows a grade percentage, it will be from the warning sign on the road.
