InReach Tracking on the Alpha 200i

inReach® tracking on the Alpha® 200i dog tracking handheld is a great new feature where people at home can see you tracking on a special dedicated website. Your friends can view your location on a computer web browser or even a smart phone internet browser.

  • An active inReach subscription is required.

  • inReach tracking works by uploading of your position coordinates periodically to the Iridium satellite network.

  • The information is then sent to a Garmin provided website.

    • Each account has its own dedicated website address URL to share with friends.

      • Either a LiveTrack™ page or MapShare™ page is used for this, depending on which you choose to enable on your account.

    • You can share your dedicated website URL address with your friends via an inReach message (email or SMS text).

  • By default, inReach tracking is set for uploading a tracking point every 10 minutes.

See Related below for information on setting up your dedicated tracking website.
