StreetPilot for Windows Phone Location Services

If an error message stating, "Location Services are disabled" is encountered, the phone is indicating that it lacks the permission needed to access the phone's GPS data. To correct this, Location Services will need to be enabled prior to navigation.

Follow these directions to enable Location Services within StreetPilot for Windows Phone:

  1. Visit the StreetPilot for Windows Phone home panel
  2. Touch the Settings button, represented by an icon of a sprocket
  3. Under the General panel, toggle Use Location Services on or off

Follow these directions to enable Location Services within the Windows Phone 7 operating system:

  1. Touch the Start key to return to Windows Phone's Home screen
  2. Sweep the screen to the left to display the Application Menu
  3. Touch the Setting icon
  4. Under the System panel, touch Location
  5. Toggle Location Services on

Follow these directions to enable Location Services within the Windows Phone 8/8.1 operating system:

  1. From the App list, touch 'Settings'
  2. Touch 'Location'
  3. Toggle the 'Location Services' switch to the right (On)

Follow these directions to enable Location Services within the Windows 10 operating system:

  1. From the 'All apps' list, touch 'Settings'
  2. Touch 'Privacy'
  3. Touch 'Location'
  4. Toggle the 'Location' switch to 'On'
  5. Toggle the 'Garmin Connect Mobile' switch under 'Choose apps that can use your location' to 'On'

If Location Services are 'On' and the StreetPilot for Windows app cannot access the current location, then the phone’s GPS receiver is currently unable acquire a position. Relocating to an area with better cellular reception and / or a clearer view of the sky and horizon may allow the phone to better acquire its position.
