My Approach X40 Is Not Recognized By Computer

The Approach® X40 golf activity tracker appears as a drive on your computer, allowing easy access to data on the device and to be recognized by Garmin programs. Occasionally, the device may not appear as a drive. The following steps can be performed to get the device to be recognized.

Forcing Device Connection With Computer

  1. Ensure device battery is fully charged.
  2. Power device off.
  3. Press and hold the Device Key.
  4. Plug device into computer.
    NOTE: Continue to hold the Device Key.
  5. Wait until device is recognized by computer.
    NOTE: It may take up to 30 seconds for device to be recognized as a drive.
  6. If prompted, install USB device drivers.
  7. Release the Device Key.
