GPS Accuracy of the inReach Messenger and inReach Messenger Plus

Today's GPS receivers are extremely accurate, thanks to their parallel multi-channel design. The inReach Messenger device features a multi-GNSS receiver which allows it to connect with multiple satellite constellations for a quicker GPS fix.

Using multi-GNSS can reduce battery life more quickly then using GPS only.

Certain atmospheric factors and other sources of error (tall buildings, dense tree cover, etc.) can still affect the accuracy of GPS receivers. Generally, users will see accuracy within 5 to 10 meters (16 to 33 feet) under normal conditions, with up to date firmware.
